                                                      Horror No. 2 FINAL

Scene I: “Introduction”

We begin with the old 50’s and 60’s B-movies cliché… An older car, containing 2 people – a guy and a girl, drive up to a secluded location, in moonlight. The location is positioned near woods, as well as some gravel… The camera is positioned outside the driver’s side window, to the rear left. We see the moon, with its light pouring over the trees. We see the front of the car, and cut to the inside, facing the girl, from the drivers side seat. We see them say 2 or 3 words, then, we hear gravel and leaves outside, as if someone is walking towards the car. We show the guy in the car turn towards the sound, whose hand moves from holding the girl’s hand, to the steering wheel. He flicks on the headlights, but sees nothing. He then figures it’s nothing, and goes back to looking into the girl’s eyes.

Optional: We go to a low third person shot of feet walk9ing across the gravel. We see the camera move up to about waist-level behind our Mystery Killer.

We hear the sound again, and show the guy saying “Stay here”, as he gets out of the car, and goes towards the sound. (We will detail the getting out of car portion with the car door slamming, from a high door -> bottom of door shot). We go to a far-shot of the guy walking towards the sound, and see/hear feet rushing, and then we go to the car again, and see the girl looking around. Then she hears a loud cracking noise, and looks up, towards the sound. We see her get out of the car, and the camera begins to follow her, as the camera cuts to a behind-shot of the car. (The camera rolls back on a dolly), we hear the girl scream. The scene fades out -> (Optional: with music).

Scene II: “Car Ride” (Dream-like, the girl mentioned is the same girl from Scene I)

The camera shows a field, with a car passing it (in -> out shot). The shows inside the car, from the backseat, facing a girl, who is looking out the windows. The driver is carefully driving, and doesn’t pay close attention to the girl in the backseat, as she begins to talk. The driver smiles for a minute, and answers the girl, who looks dismal. We cut to a car driver-away shot. (Camera follows car).
These shots last for approx 25 seconds, until they reach their destination – which cannot be seen from the camera’s position.
(This would lead on to the old Scene 3, of which is not here because I’ve decided that it was repetition, and boring).

Scene III: “Running” (New Scene III – a waking up process for the Scene I girl)

We see trees, swirling past, almost unidentifiable. Next, we cut to an “Evil Dead”-inspired shot of the camera closing in on the old car, as the girl “wakes” up. (However, it is really a nightmare).  She looks around the car, and sees the ground stained red. Blood flows around the car, and then flowers cover the car, as the camera looks from the girl’s perspective for a few seconds, and then back to third person. The girl screams “STOP!”, and everything returns to normal in a second. She looks outside again, and nothing is strange. We cut to a first-person shot of the girl looking up at a tree branch, which sways with the breeze, and then this scene ends.

Scene IV: “Slow and repeat”

We see a shoe fall to the ground. We then see a can of soda being opened, and cut to a glass being filled half-way, and then a hand picks it up. (The camera stays stationary throughout, and doesn’t move at all). Some music plays in the background. We see a bloodied knife on the table, then a package of hamburger meat. We cut to a pot of water, of which is boiling. The water boils over, just as the hand with the glass in it drops, and the bloodied knife sticks out from the person’s back. We cut to the person’s face, which is now on the table. It is the boy from Scene I. The scene fades out.

Optional reusable scene: “We see a shoe fall to the ground. The water boils over” – we may use this to signify oncoming death, or something.

Scene V: “Rebuild”

This scene goes back to the beginning. We see a killer’s feet running through the woods. We can see the old car rocking back & forth *maybe not, but it would be the only comic relief in the entire film). We see the hand of the killer, brandishing a flashlight (one of those big maglite ones). We cut to the next event, the killer hides behind a tree, as the guy gets out of his car. The killer begins to chant a strange phrase “come to me, my insignificant friend… “(he `repeats it over and over) The guy from the car nears the tree, and the killer hits him with one fowl swoop to the back of the head, with the handle of the flashlight. We now see the girl emerge from the car, and walk up to the guy’s feet, then see her let out a blood curdling scream. The scene fades out with the scream.

Scene VI: “More dreams”

We show the optional reusable scene, and repeat it several times, eventually speeding it up to a 1.25-second clip, of which fades into black, and into the next scene.

Scene VII: “Regenerate”

We see a car pull up to a stop sign, and we can see a package of cards on the dashboard. The person driving pulls out the cards, and flicks one across the car, out the passenger-side window. We cut to the card, as the car drives off, and see that it is the joker’s card. We cut back into the car, and see it as it aims towards a tree. The scene ends abruptly, and the next begins.

Scene VIII: “Quality Control… or lack thereof”

We go to the old car again, 1 day after the bludgeoning death. The woods are blissful, yet deceiving. The crime that occurred was not reported, and the girl is sobbing inside the car. Insanity has begun to set in. Her eyes are shown, being dilated, and red with tears.
A man stops his car, to see if anyone is in the abandoned car. (He walks with a cane). He raps his cane on the window, and the girl begins to scream. The man steps backward, almost tripping. He regains his balance, and notices the feet poking out of the forest bushes. He walks over, and sees the man (the camera NEVER shows the damage done to the guy… it just implies the sickness, with it following the man with cane. The camera follows the man’s head, as he looks down at the body, then turns quickly away, yet sees something sticking out of the guy’s pocket. A small ring box. (Ah, reminiscent of the original innervate script).  We cut to the girl, who is watching every move that the man makes, and biting her nails. She gets jumpy. She ensures that the doors are locked. The man looks again to the girl, wondering what is going with her, and goes over to her. She screams, and the man backs away. He opens the ring box, and shows the girl through the window, the ring hidden inside. She eyes it with curiosity, but the man closes it, and pockets it. He runs off to his car, and drives away. The girl screams at him, as the scene fades out.

Scene IX: “Face it”

We cut to a scene of a girl, who is looking into a mirror, searching for something. She notices something. The camera pulls back to the side of her, and we can see two faces in the mirror. Her face, then someone else’s face. At first, it’s just small blips of the other face, and then it begins to appear more obvious. (The camera is not showing anything but her face). We then show the girl begin to realize who she’s seeing. (The girl in this scene is the killer, but this is not revealed until later). She screams, as the face reappears, and stays. She attempts to move, but her legs are frozen in fear. The scene fades out.

Scene X: “Figures”

We cut to a Voice Over of a girl saying “That’s what I remember at least…. “The scene fades in to a room with a table, chair, and girl telling her story. “Wait… I do remember something odd about the… how did you put it… suspect.”
We don’t hear an interviewee, but see the hands of a man, and cut to the back of him, with his suit in the way of the camera, which is positioned directly towards the girl. We cut back to her, and allow for her to tell her story. “I was going to marry him, you see… just as soon as we graduated. He was going to propose to me… a man came by, and stole the ring from his body. He drove off… I was too scared to look for his license plate, I’m sorry”. A moment later, the girl who was staring into the mirror at someone else’s face, enters the room. The two girls look towards each other, and realize who is who. The image in the mirror was that of the girl that sits at the table. The girl that stared into the mirror looks at her in utter amazement. The two continue to stare at each other, as they become one. The girl at the table says “insignificant people”, over and over, and the man questioning her asks the final question. “Ma’am, why did you murder your boyfriend?” The question seems to scare the girl, and she answers “No… I didn’t you see. She did (points towards the door). The camera shows a Point of view shot of the girl at the table, and the door, with no one standing near it. The man says “Who?” The girl says “her!” still pointing, and then she realizes. “Her” (quietly), now pointing towards herself. The man says “exactly.” The girl in the car wakes up. The camera watches her eyes open, then she begins to scream inside the locked car. The scene fades out. The credits roll, the movie ends.

This is a story about human dreams, and what may come of them.
A Hitchcock-style movie story/script.
